What UI skin do you use?

If you want to keep window body gray, you have to make a new texture with green borders.

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

21782 I would suggest that when users toggle off procedural stars/planets/nebulae/etc... that the game pulls and displays only those planets which are known. It is frustrating to search a system's planetary bodies and find that the displayed planets are not real.  Yes, indeed. I also would like to ...

21304 New Titan map. Restored version of the 2013 USGS mosaic by Ian regan : https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected] ... otostream/ Wow, that's nice one! Thanks! 21319 A non-language dependent user database. So 'user-db.cfg' instead of 'user-eng-db.cfg' or 'user-ger-db.cfg'. In my opinion, there is...

Astrophotography

Wow, is the last photo HDR?

I tried to make a photo, but observing conditions was very poor: Moon is low above horizon, clouds and haze, and crazy light pollution. Camera is also not perfect.

Solar System dynamics discussion thread

21292 But sadly this is a difficult topic. Jean-Babtiste Biot attempted to explain Le Verrier's methods in six papers he published in 1846 (just before the discovery) and in the third paper he wrote "As I progress in the task I have undertaken, the difficulty of the subject seems to increase&q...

Solar System dynamics discussion thread

One thing what I really want to know about celestial mechanics, is how transit timing variation method works. I mean in details: equations, and how they are linked to transiting exoplanets observation data processing. May it be similar to the method used by Le Verrier to predict Neptune's position? ...

Solar System dynamics discussion thread

Wow, why nobody linked this thread to me? (Sorry, I can't read the whole forum...) Watsisname , very good job in explaining the Mercury orbit!  I have a question though: is time/space dilation due to Mercury's velocity accounted in equations automatically, or its effect is simply negligible? Your po...

General questions about SpaceEngine

Release is expected this year on Steam. I can't give the exact date, because developing the app is not like building a road. Then you build a road, you may measure your average speed, say 1 mile per day, then divide the remaining distance onto this speed and obtain number of days left. Developing ap...

Scanning every star/planet in the SE universe?

20579 I would imagine the search always starts in the outer layers, otherwise if you've reached the 10K limit, it won't matter whether you select a radius of 20ly or 2000ly it would always find the same results closest to the viewer. No, searching order is "fractal", according on architec...
