Work progress - 0.9.8.1

13860 I think it consists in randomly rotating and maybe also scaling parts of texture, but I have no idea how it works... It usually also darkens parts of it but this is already done by SE. Yes, SE already uses blending with rotated part of the same texture while generating low-scale patterns (the...

Experimenting with a detail textures. Here is a 4 "octaves" of a different textures with a different scales. Astronaut model to scale. scr00839.jpg scr00842.jpg scr00843.jpg Here is a single tiled texture scr00844.jpg scr00845.jpg The problem is what this detail pattern is the same across ...

13748 1) Precession of Mercury's perihelion: I saw it in SE and looks great, but only occurs from the year 1550 to the 2560. Considering this is a more or less periodic phenomena could you make the timespan for the precession bigger? In that way we could see further evolution of Mercury's orbit. It...

ESI is calculated using a standard formula. It is a continuous quantity, unlike the temperature classes subdivision.

Such a flag will influence oceans as well as the atmosphere. As long as "terra" is no longer necessary a planet with seas, SE could generate or not generate seas as a result of equilibrium calculations. So there must be 2 options in the script: either define both ocean and atmosphere with ...

I hope everyone knows that if you hover the mouse cursor over the "Filter" cells in the star browser table, you will see a hint with a list of all planets/moons in the system which matches the filter? This function was added many years ago. See the small yellow box near the cursor: scr0082...

COMMUNITY ADDON - Catalog Fixes for SE

Git it! HD 226868 should be added to the Cygnus X-1 definition in the BlackHoles.sc catalog, otherwise SE have no way to merge it with star HD 226868 from the HIPPSRCOS catalog:
StarBarycenter "HD 226868/Cygnus X-1"

13633 This is really great. I have a request, though. From what you say, all atmospheric code is based on calculations of equilibrium conditions, and if I'm not mistaken those supercede whatever one tries to type in catalog definitions. Now, I'd find extremely useful to be able to input non-equilib...

Qr Bbpost (like the inability to explore randomly because the app crashes after selecting about ~30 stars)

Hm, 30 is the exact size of the planetary systems cache. It's strange what SE crashes while releasing it. Do you have some ships spawned in the game?

Qr Bbpost Vladimir, This planet in the image has the colors changed in the editor or it actually has these colors originally?

Colors of planets are random mess now because of multiple changes in the code. I didn't start updating the texture/palette generation.

Work progress - 0.9.8.1

Recent weeks I had work on a planetary chemistry. It is updated atmosphere composition code - I should call it the planetary chemical composition code now. Because it computes not only the atmosphere, but the seas/oceans and frozen ices. It performs iteration of the global climate conditions on the ...

Translators

NEMESIS ,  I am constantly adding new lines, so keeping all translations up-to-date have little sense. Unless if you update a very outdated translation, then this will reduce a pre-release work a lot. The very deadline will be a last week before release, I will upload the beta and give access to it...

Patch 0.9.8.0e

It should be noted that 0.9.8.0e is a fork, it will not be developed further, so bug reports have no sense (unless someone know how to fix some particular bug by re-configuring SE).

Problem with textures and planet terrains

This is probably because 0.980 and 0.980e have different Saturn texture specified in the SolarSys.sc.
