Science and Astronomy Questions

How does the morphology of a massive star's surface differ compared to stars such as our sun? I know that granules are produced by the outer convective zone cells, but massive stars are typically core convective, right? So would a massive star even have granules, especially when it's shedding so muc...

Qr Bbpost The file you gave me, the star-shadder thing. Is it supposed to look like that.

It should look like this:

7703 is it supposed to look like this? I do not quite understand what you mean. You have to put the .pak file in a folder named ' addons '. This folder is located in the top level of your SpaceEngine installation. If this folder does not exist, you must create it. The name of the file is ' star_sha...

7670 tbh it doesn't look right in SE. Don't know why Sorry, I forgot that I use modified star shaders. Put the .pak file in the ' addons ' folder. star_shaders.pak And delete the ' cache ' folder. (The shaders are only for SE 0.980.) Without the modified shaders it looks like this. scr00031.jpg is ...

How would plate tectonics work on these planets?

My guess would be about the same as on any other terra.  Plate tectonics is based on mantle convection, which is slow and does not care a whole lot about the planet's rotation rate. What I meant was, how does plate activity interact with the cryosphere in the photos above which appears many kilomet...

How do I even reply to this?

Doesn't matter that you can't do the math.  He can't either.  But you know people who can, and they presented it for you. Realize of course that this is an ignorant and unreasonable person "debating" anonymously on the internet.  You are not going to convince him.  You can instead be sati...

How do I even reply to this?

I have seen people make this or similar arguments before.   They think they are showing that it is impossible for a cloud of gas in space to collapse to form galaxies and stars, because the pressure will always overwhelm the gravity. So, you think this argument is wrong.  I agree! When I encounter ...
