I suppose it depends on how similar the technology is to humans. If the AI is capable of learning in the same...

Dreams you've had

7877 Based on the following I have come to the conclusion that some (limited) precognition could actually be real. Perhaps precognition has its roots in biological evolution. If a person were able to see and avert events in the future, they would presumable have a better chance of survival than the...

Dreams you've had

I had a fantastic dream about a cookbook detailing all kinds of ways to prepare eggs. I woke up excited, ready to try out some of the recipes, only to realize that the few I remembered left something to be desired. Raw eggs with ketchup don't sound appealing at all when you are awake.

Strategic parking lots should be used in front of banks and other buildings containing priceless materials. That way any robbers would take so long trying to escape in their getaway vehicles that they would be caught in no time.

Science and Astronomy Questions

Well...it would certainly be warm, for one!  i'm not too well-versed in these matters, but from what I can tell: L ife as we know it probably wouldn't fare too well, so we can subtract its effects on the environment. There wouldn't be much oxygen as no photosynthesis would occur and remaining stores...

Can anyone find a Habitable Rogue planet?

7360 Of course, it might be hard to find such a planet. Maybe it's for the better. You wouldn't want somebody hopping aboard a nearby free-floating planet and shuttling off to Andromeda   :) I wonder what life would be like on such a planet? Soaring endlessly through space, hoping no asteroids get ...

A few days ago I ran into an odd beetle. I watched it scuttle around for a bit, intrigued. I had never seen this type of bug before! Then a passersby stepped on it with an exclamation of "Ew".

The Future of Humanity & Intelligent life in the universe

One day, far into the future, a race of beings outfitted with artificial intelligence will be called upon by humans to solve all problems. They will respond by promptly killing everyone.  Later on, these beings will forget humans and their technological origins. They will consider themselves regular...

Space chats with your friendly neighbourhood anthropologist!

Anthro_Danielle , I'm glad to find that you found my reply interesting! I'm not an astrophysicist, though I hope to someday pursue a career in the field. As of now I study the subject in my spare time as a sort of hobby. I have not yet taken any formal courses in this area, so much of my knowledge ...
