I think the distance from the rings where you would see the noisy texture in previous versions is now about the same distance where you start seeing ring particles in build 1865.
Currently in SE, the rings of Jupiter and Uranus contain only dust, but Neptune's rings have particles. Is this realistic? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-JKLVJ00xlgNSI_-H8dBSVoDFHFQL_YzfZd0u0LyJk__O5tsLvWDciE7yMOKh6Z-VWC2kU98LJMGMwBRJjWTzmJMw2I7oG1S_21oc2TlouDubH97nucWsFl1sZCOO4SdBlhg68QlaY...
I was checking out some distant comets in the Solar System, when I found Comet Mcnaught. It seems to have been placed far too distantly to begin with, and then if you accelerate time slowly moves farther and farther out, never completing its orbit around the sun. Comet McNaught is non-periodic: it...
I found an active volcano with a snowcap on it. Not sure if this is normal or not but I've never seen it before Version 0.990, RS 8496-2265-7-1556412-527 2. There's a lot of other capped volcanoes on the planet but none of them have lava as far as I can tell Here's another example of snow-covered l...
This planet clearly has a nearly 90° axial tilt relative to its sun, but its stats give its axial tilt as 27°, because that's its inclination relative to its orbit around the planetary barycenter. Can barycenters be ignored when calculating axial tilt? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-JKLUt3t...
38194 retina nebula Looking at your log, just moments before the crash SE loaded Centaurus A, probably because it was in the line of sight. Centaurus A galaxy crashes SE as a matter of fact, it's a known bug they're trying to catch I've found that approaching ESO 510-G13 causes SE to crash too, so ...
Greetings, my crash problem seems specific to going to the Centaurus galaxy. Everytime I attempt to go to the Centaurus galaxy Space engine crashes to desktop. It doesn't happen with any other galaxies that I have noticed. I have the very latest drivers for my Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, driver ver...
The latest version of SE crashes whenever I try to open the Info pane with any object selected. My se.log is attached. EDIT: Upon further investigation, I found that I can open the Wiki window if the Solar System Chart or Solar System Browser are already open. If they aren't open, I can open the Wik...
Black holes look a lot more interesting from the inside when the new geographic grids are turned on. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AM-JKLWJyf6LrRouVG53joFnw9pP4EAtNvaq4rDrmWvm5wbAtCHO5qb0HqAVaN4qarIj6vgYiRPD2Ls54KBIYARZZDa4U-2Gx6AH5lb5bpIdMNK3Iur4fuM9mpXxsSzJ-3JXIBzQA_1bJjvcrSUT_4y4DW1p=w1228...
Sitting in a ring system with time slowed down to around 0.001 is very soothing, like watching snow fall. Yes, fast temporal rendering at low quality makes me feel like I'm playing the original version of Doom, but I appreciate Space Engine for accommodating users with low-performance GPUs as much a...
I know it's probably because of the limitations of my graphics card (2 GB GeForce GT 750M), but when I get to an altitude of about 100m above the surface of a planet and detail textures need to be loaded, SE can become unresponsive for 20 to 30 seconds. Is there any way to run this task in the backg...
Sometimes, when I select a distant star, open the solar system browser, select one of the planets and then try to open the Info panel, SE will crash. This seems to happen more often when I'm inside a nebula. My se.log is attached.
