General suggestions for SpaceEngine

If Space Engine will eventually be able to depict "deep time" cosmic events, such as the rotation of galaxies and the expansion of the universe, at least two things will need to be done first: the center of the entire universe's coordinate system will have to change from the Sun to Sgr A* ...

Work progress - 0.9.8.1

I know, but having stars go supernova is going to require fundamental changes to the way Space Engine works. Objects will need to be able to change their types at specific times: stars becoming neutron stars, planets becoming scorched planets and so forth. I think these kinds of changes should proba...

Work progress - 0.9.8.1

SpaceEngineer, I've posted this before on the old forum, but please DON'T implement expanding supernova remnants in 0.9.8.1. There would be no point in doing this unless you can model planets being destroyed when they're hit by the shockwave, and then you'd also need to depict every stage of stella...

Please add records for galaxies: Largest (procedural) galaxy by stars Largest (procedrual) galaxy by radius Location with largest stellar density (number of results in a 10ly radius search in the star browser) Can add for each archetype of galaxy No takers for these yet? With the new river code, rivers on some planets are affected by the "mirage" bug where very shallow bodies of water dry up as you approach them.

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Lately, I've been trying to fly over the cloudtops on gas giants. I suggest that the shader should lower the maximum bumpiness value of clouds on gas and ice giants to prevent them from becoming too spiky: scr00442.jpg scr00446.jpg The "vortex" noise pattern used on clouds looks OK when bu...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

If you're standing on the surface of a planet, but you click on the sky so that the planet is no longer selected, you currently can't reselect the planet just by clicking anywhere on the landscape -- you have to point the camera straight down in order to select the center of the planet. And this doe...

Sending locations to others.

No, the Space Engine universe should be identical for all users with stock installations of Space Engine, but locations may change if you install mods.

Space Engine - Solar/Lunar Eclipses

Has anybody observed total solar eclipses on Earth in Space Engine? What I've been trying to do is hover over the specular highlight of the Sun on the Earth, and speed up time until I can see the Moon's shadow. All I've seen so far have been partial eclipses, though.

Extinct volcanoes with plants growing in the crater are fairly common on terras with life.
