General suggestions for SpaceEngine

In the information of a planet, it might be practical to see the habitability in relation to the human species and the effects on the human body on the surface of this planet. ESI (Earth Similarity Index) is the closest thing we've got to that right now. It might be nice to know whether an atmosphe...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Does anyone else think the default settings for nebula generation make diffuse nebulae too small and SNRs too dim and rare? Why can't procedural SNRs be as bright as the Crab Nebula? Why can't there be a diffuse nebula as big as the Carina Nebula on the other side of the Milky Way? Why shouldn't eve...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

I'd like to see Space Engine generate RAMBOs (Robust Associations of Massive Baryonic Objects), which would be clusters consisting entirely of brown dwarfs.

A minineptune smaller than the Earth? Should we consider it a very small Neptune or a very cold Venus? Note how high the ESI is even though it bears very little resemblance to Earth. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/aAmpGbfZmZJh4NfSDQ5AFXYM3DwMYAqB3Fuy-6xM-Y566AU4Z7u8CQDtU78bGk6s5DjgR8pwTVewNp3h11-...

The ecology of a planemo would be based on chemosynthesis, not photosynthesis. It should be possible for organisms to evolve infrared-sensing vision even if there isn't any sunlight.

Text misalignment is still present in spanish, even after changes Would it be acceptable in Spanish to use "Compos. marina" instead of "Compos. de los mares"? Thinking about this made me notice another potential problem with the way SE handles localizations: should "life&qu...

HIP 66892/HD 119445, a star with a known brown dwarf companion, has an apparent magnitude of 2 when seen from Earth in SE 0.990. This makes it as bright as the stars in the Big Dipper, and it looks like an extension of the "handle". https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/PJEmQvYHfKo5fUFxyQgijXE...

The subscripted Jupiter symbol ("1M ♃ ") is too small and hard to read. Should bold fonts also be included for the main menu and locations menu? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a2NVmnUkm4qgRrCh5THBqvii7sVvnrUWpvHm-rPgyGl348VyJDgEFRr68LQIyGfrSsZ_FlubgiY1tDs4XR-a2uAAjB1Iv3kStUymbfvVwoLKntF...

Because the question of to what extent Taiwan should be treated as a separate country has been in the news recently. Maybe SpaceEngineer should just give up on displaying flags in the language menu altogether?

Another justification is that the USA and Mexico are the most populous countries that speak English and Spanish. But the more controversial question is, should the flag for Traditional Chinese be the Taiwanese flag instead of the PRC's?

Has anyone else found that they can no longer select clusters in build 1690? When I click on a cluster, I can only select individual stars within the cluster, or if they're in a dense starfield inside a galaxy, I end up selecting stars behind the cluster. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/i8ULzta7k-...

This is a problem, though: if you click on any of the input fields in the camera control menu, and without entering any text click on one of the other input fields, the previous input field disappears. If click on all of the fields, all of them will disappear except for the last one you clicked. All...

Of course it would be good if there was something like ephemeris data for the Voyager probes. But if there is a corresponding space probe ephemeris file, I would not know where to find it.

SpaceEngine would need to be able to parse SPICE kernels like Celestia can.

Could you see the picture in the previous post I made about polar ice caps? I edited my post to use a different Google URL; can you see it now?
