Apparently your file has a white border, 1 pixel wide, and a strip few pixels wide at the bottom. It's only visible if you disable alpha channel in an image editor. That was it. There's apparently a bug in my version of Photoshop, something about Matte when exporting png's. What? Why you did this? ...
I've added a new flag to interface_mat.png, now all the flags on the bottom row of interface_mat.png (Catalonia, USA, Mexico, Sweden, and now the new one) have this white strip in-game.

This might be a bit silly, but are procedurally generated constellations on the table? For any given planet pick the brightest/most notable stars, create graphs using those stars as nodes (with no overlaps), figure out the bounding boxes, and give each a generic name (greek letters perhaps).
Will 0.9.9.0 version allow us to translate into non-latin languages? I'm afraid Unicode is not to be implemented in 0.9.9.0.
