Work progress - 0.9.8.1

So to clarify. Will the final release of SE 0.9.8.1 require Steam client, or run standalone just like all the previous versions?

Planets with potentially breathable atmospheres

Actually I would pay my whole money to go in an exoplanet in which I can survive for some minutes without any kind of life assistance! I guess we can also survive on Mars for a few seconds, but breathing the air of an exoplanet is probably a very exciting experience  8-) Well the pressure's 13 kPa ...

Planets with potentially breathable atmospheres

That sounds pretty bad, but in the context of typical SE atmospheres that is a really nice find.
Not at all. Honestly it's better than I expected, lol. I found this system along with others within 50 lightyears of the North America Nebula.

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Any chance of getting the hectopascal (hPa) unit of pressure added as an option? I've noticed SE already supports kPa and bars.

Planets with potentially breathable atmospheres

Just came across this. To my knowledge, O2 doesn't occupy enough partial pressure. C02/S02 looks to be pretty borderline?

Dreams you've had

I've had sleep paralysis at least once. This was before I realized it might've been considered sleep paralysis, so I was just confused more than terrified. Anyways, this dream that I posted on Reddit some months back has stuck with me since then. The dream starts out in the 21st century, where I se...

Dreams you've had

For those wondering. To dream of waking up is called a "false awakening". I get them occasionally. Sometimes when trying to "wiggle" my way out of a dream once I realize I'm not really awake, I'll end up in sleep paralysis. I can usually break from it, but sometimes I end up just...

Somewhat unrelated. But does anyone know who created SE's soundtrack?

Planets with potentially breathable atmospheres

If we are talking future technology perhaps you could generate a localized magnetic field or some other fancy shielding technique. That's an idea. If these travelers had the capability of generating a localized magnetic field, then I imagine they would be equipped with a gas filter of some sort too...

Placemarks would be nice. I often times come across particular areas of interest on a planet's surface, and it can be a trick to locate those same coordinates a second time.

1856 I would imagine the low mass would also point toward a weak magnetic shield? Would need to figure out Ozone content but that would play a decent role in UV protection.  You would probably be fine with limited exposure and considering the temperature you would be wearing layers anyway.  You cou...

Sounds like you had one of them fancy waking dreams or a touch of sleep paralysis.   Oh god, I've had my brush with that. SP can be as awesome as it can be terrifying. Same goes for lucid dreaming. Lately I've been more subconscious of my dreams. I remember segments during the day time. Whatever it...

Planets with potentially breathable atmospheres

I remember a thread like this on the old forum. I've come pretty close to finding reasonably breathable atmospheres myself, but the S02 is almost always the deal breaker. If the S02 is not high, you can count on the C02 to make up for it instead 8-) @Watsisname Aside from the lethal temperatures on ...
