Using Space Engine for a D&D campaign?

I'll quit high-jacking this thread and start up a Realmspace Release & Test thread soon. I might eventually have a decent galaxy to work with. I can not express the depth of my aversion, disgust, distaste, repulsion, revulsion and utter hatred for GIMP. I hope they put that recent donation to go...

Science and Astronomy Questions

"Behind every atom of this world hides an infinite universe". ~Rumi Why do all electrons have the same charge and the same mass? Because, they are all the same electron! ~Wheeler World lines traced out across spacetime by every electron is actually all part of one single line like a huge t...

Using Space Engine for a D&D campaign?

Oh yes I quite look forward to that. JackDole created a geocentric system a few weeks back. I don't see that as a difficult hurdle though. Realmspace has a (semi) gas giant with a miniature star as a moon, which I did a while back too. It seems to work out fine without overheating all the other moon...

Using Space Engine for a D&D campaign?

After a two week break, I got down and FINALLY figured out how to make a proper alpha channel in GIMP. Things still don't look right though. I'm just glad I got rid of that milky white color correction in Gamma levels that Photoshop always left behind. Anyone know why the other channels (RGB) are so...

Help with creating Mods and Addons

I believe it is a floating point error in calculating RA & Dec at far distances from earth (or Sol?), so your star might end up pretty far off from your intended target. But that's just a guess.

Using Space Engine for a D&D campaign?

The last thing I was working on a month ago or so was the Abeir-Toril relationship. It has been said that Abeir and Toril both share the same moon, but that you can not see one from the other. So obviously it had to be a trinary planet system with the "Moon" as the central body with Abeir ...

Using Space Engine for a D&D campaign?

The last time I "played" was fleshing out an Al-Qadim campaign in Jan 2016. One of my favorite Characters from back then, a nasty little guy that steals spells with a touch. I think I have 2 dozen PCs & NPCs fairly detailed out, running around, but it was about that time I discovered S...

What a strange small world. The missing cosmonauts you mentioned, and noted on the wikipage link, are referenced as popular culture icons from the May 1987 issue #121 (page 74-79) of Dragon Magazine featuring "Operation: Zodiac", an article by Merle M. Rasmussen, creator of the Top Secret ...

Using Space Engine for a D&D campaign?

23216 Yo Gnargenox, I love the Toril map! I have seen your images of it around the forum for awhile, but is it downloadable for SE? I am quite a fan of the setting. It is not quite finished, as far as how much I first intended to complete for a released version. Then I realized I created about 20+G...

I'm only hoping a few lines of code in each script might fix things, or things like nebulae will be easy to edit within the engine. I know all my calculations for orbits or motions will be the same.

General 0.9.9.0 Discussion

Personally I'm in no hurry to see an update or new release simply because I'm nearly complete with my custom Star System and Galaxy along with textures for all main bodies. I know the moment the update is released my work will be outdated and never seen haha. So my vote is to hold off. (Also, I hope...

What's this!? Volcanic activity on Mars? Or did a meteorite land right on top of a dead volcano? I thought the Tharsis bulge was the last heave-ho Mars ever saw geologically speaking. Maybe I'll have to re-write some scripts and get the blood flowing again on our Martian neighbor's face. Before phot...

Not bad at all. Looks comparable to this shot taken during last week's flyby.
