General 0.9.9.0 Discussion

the scientific realism: [...] SE approaches infinity. Shouldn't that be 1? Or are you implying that SE is more realistic than reality? For me its price will always be symbolic because its value is infinite. How come you still have Internet? How can you still pay your ISP when you should have given ...

Astrobiology in Space Engine

22988 The real issue though is that SE is an astronomy software, not a biology one Then perhaps we should remove all "planets with life" from Space Engine? There was a ":p" smiley at the end of my sentence. The whole thread started because I said I couldn't wait to see trees. So...

You know what they say about lies and statistics. But jokes aside, I did not intent to convey that the SE universe was groundless. But while we know what the universe is at a macro level, we do not know what it is like at the micro level. There is no planet at coordinate X-Y-Z, and if there was, it'...

22951 I hope someday we can see such *trees* in SpaceEngine! 8-) The problem is, we do not know if trees are anywhere but on Earth. If there is any such thing as trees elsewhere, they will probably look completely different. :| So what? We don't know what the other planets look like, what they are ...

3D alien clouds

It's not even a concept. It's just an example of what can be done with shaders in general (so in that sense, SpaceEngine could have it or something similar at some point in the future, but for now, that has nothing to do with SE)

Work progress 0.9.8.1 = 0.9.9.0
You know, I'm pretty sure no one would mind if you released an open beta of 0.9.9.0.
Since SE is not open beta, I'm pretty sure that mean someone would mind, namely SpaceEngineer.
you would get plenty of feedback on the software, a...

General questions about SpaceEngine

As far as I know, SpaceEngineer does not take new developers. He certainly cannot pay them. There is not enough support to even pay himself (need $1000/month support).

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

This is a new forum compared to "so long" ago, it's probably why you needed to recreate your account. Everybody had to. 1. Suggestions to you: read the TODO list. Do you really thing that this wouldn't be on the TODO list already? ...

And there you go, someone giving a precise date that will never be met. And on top of that, taking the cowardly way since he won't be there to take responsibility when the deadline is missed.

Work progress - 0.9.8.1

Nahor     Hey man, think about this, the longer it takes, the better the space engine and I also think that waiting for the necessary time is cool, and Vladimir is doing it for free.  :) The best is the enemy of the good. And reasoning this way, the app should never be released because there will a...

Work progress - 0.9.8.1

13645 (like the inability to explore randomly because the app crashes after selecting about ~30 stars) Hm, 30 is the exact size of the planetary systems cache. It's strange what SE crashes while releasing it. Do you have some ships spawned in the game? No I don' have ships. I just start the game, g...
