Please leave the moderating for moderators. I personally found that image quite funny, he wasn't actually asking, just making a joke about the whole waiting thing. Maybe a fellow mod will disagree, but still it's important to let us do the moderating, if you spot any posts that need our attention, p...

Work progress 0.9.9.0

I find that when I have a new idea to implement, and I get a working albeit buggy version up and running, I don't like to send it out to open beta for fear that it will put people off using it. I want people to use my stuff, and if the first time they encounter it it really sucks, they get a negativ...

Work progress 0.9.8.1 = 0.9.9.0

This might be a bit silly, but are procedurally generated constellations on the table? For any given planet pick the brightest/most notable stars, create graphs using those stars as nodes (with no overlaps), figure out the bounding boxes, and give each a generic name (greek letters perhaps). I like...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

I know this, but Space Engine is supposed to show the universe the way we perceive it, not the way cameras perceve it. If not the way we perceive, then it's not so immersive. Sorry guys but I am with enioquedes on this. I mean, I think SpaceEngine should eventually do it's best to get the brightnes...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Hi, I would love to see an accelerometer added to space engine. When we navigate around the universe, we must hit some ridiculously huge Gs, and it would be really great to see that value live, and might in theory not be hard to implement :) Has this been mentioned before? This is also a good place ...

If I will ever introduce alien civilization, they will not resemble that you expect to see from popular shows or games. This might be an intelligent community of bacteria, or quantum supercomputer distributed inside the icy crust of a cold planetoid, or mushroom forests with self-organizing pattern...

Astronomical Image Repository

A friend of mine asked me to post this and I agreed because it sounds awesome: Hello all! I currently work on research as a PhD student that bridges one known gap between astrophysics & computer science.  This has taken me down the route of possibly using simulated images to train my deep models...

To be honest, I'd rather wait for a complete release without bugs.

This is impossible. No piece of software can be completely bug-free. Especially SE due to its complexity.

You'd be surprised how few bugs SE currently has.
