Work progress - 0.9.9.0

I'm confused. This thread's title changed to 0.9.9.0, so I thought 0.9.8.1 had been released. Does it offer VR supp...

Unrealistic stars.

Those skies are so overexposed though, I'd love to see what it would actually look like with eyes in a relatively dark area

And you talk about what a 'proper simulator' is with a straight face?

What's that supposed to imply? You do realise that the goal of Space Engine is to be as accurate and inclusive of all astronomical phenomena as possible?

10772 True, that's a problem, but it fading creates a different problem. Sometimes I am studying it and it just fades. For example I want to watch the distance or apparent magnitude as I move, or I am reading through all the stats but it fades before I can get to the end. Maybe let us be able to pi...

Idea about new info table (photoshop mokeup): new into mokeup.png Info table becomes a window, which is fully transparent (invisible) in normal mode, showing only text, but appears when user hover mouse cursor over it. It could have an expand/collapse buttons, to show more/less detailed description...

Good way to add to immersion - what about yours?

Especially for those with VR. What I am doing right now is pretending I have crash landed on a planet. First thing I do is pick a nice place to start then I want for the scene to fully load. The clouds always load last on atmospheric planets so wait a good while. If there is an atmosphere, get a win...

Thirdly, this is a beta, if you are frustrated that it has problems, understandable but coming on to the forum and breaking the rules swearing is not acceptable at all.

My idea for a small first "gameplay" mechanic - base building

0.98 have a fixed/static orbit syntax: it attaches the object to the parent planet. FixedPosXYZ (x, y, z) FixedPosPolar (longitude, latitude, radius) With a static (uncontrollable) ships in 0.981, it is possible to put a model on the planet surface. We need just more convenient way to do this, some...
