11352 I'm not so sure.  The color of the sky should depend on the color of the parent star(s). As SpaceEngineer explained above: 11153 Yes, but just multiplicatively. Ie if atmosphere where white, and illuminated by a red star, it becomes red. That is: if I understant the program structure correctl...

Would they blend into eachother seamlessly, though?

11153 Green also could be a chlorine :) Pink hue is made by methane absorption lines in spectra, it is a prediction of color of a T-dwarfs and warm gas giants. Yellow/red is hydrocarbons/dust, as like on Titan and Mars. Athmospheric chemistry is a hugely complicated mess, because adding to every co...

11120 Gasses usually reflect different wavelengths of light, so it'd make sense to code the atmospheres with their constituent gasses. This is a common misconception, but a misconception it is (and Space Engine is kinda contributing to it). The color of an atmosphere has very little to do with what...

Can my PC run Space Engine?

11089 Weird. My old card was an ATI Radeon HD 4650 that is just slightly better but I had 30-40 fps in space, maybe it's the "new" star rendering that is very heavy. My card used to have way higher fps values in space than it has now. Usually it was in the upper 20s and, occasionally, it ...

Can my PC run Space Engine?

11074 I doubt that anyone consulting the list is doing so because they want to get a card which cards run SE at 2 fps, hence the 610 not making the list. Well, they might if they could get the card cheap and can't afford any more than that (or if there's some issue with older hardware archietctures...

Can my PC run Space Engine?

Well, FWIW, I have a GeForce GT 610 and the program runs. Slowly, sometimes going down as low as 2 FPS, but it displays everything. I can even fly ships.

Rodrigos Terrain & Clouds Mod

I tried these shaders and I just thought I'd drop a small note. I'd absolutely love them if they were an addition to what SE currently gives us instead of a replacement. I'd love to have Rodrigo's landforms added to SpaceEngineer's for one very good reason: terrain generation needs a whole lot more ...

JCandeias' ships

So I recently had a few insomniac nights (bloody heat!) and that meant I finally got into ships, learning to fly them (well... a bit) and build them with ePayload's editor. I made a few designs, without giving much thought to functionality (I was way too tired to plan anything, so I just added eleme...

10845 Not nescessarily, in the search filter there is the "planet" and "satellite" (moon) tab, you could search for a hot gas giant and in the moon tab, search for "neptomoon", defining a moon with a size close to neptune. Exclusive object search for each tab could be ...

10808 About the new naming system, there is a new candidate for exomoon that is nicknamed "neptomoon" due to it's size, so that could be implemented. I sure hope not. It's a tongue-in-cheek nickname, used by the Cool Worlds lab people as a joke, the word itself is horrendous and to append...

Help with creating Mods and Addons

10697 Does someone know what is the problem when a ship seems to have fully functional textures despite being rendered as fully dark unless the ambient lighting is raised? Probably because you've created it in interstellar space. Out there they don't have a light source to illuminate them, and ther...
