I was thinking it would be nice if new modules could be added to ships, stations and specially bases, directly in game, in the edit menu. Perhaps with a button that opens a sub-menu with the list of available .cfg files. Would make it easy to create new modular content... but I suspect it wouldn't b...

Very nice... maybe you should consider to add some pre-game feature in order to involve people in the project... create a lore and some rule that guide the exploration. Create a virtual money for rewards for every planet. And a list of virtual objects to buy that improve the exploraton skills... off...

If you don't see reflections is because SE continue to use the old material from others mode ebh01 and ebh02. I forget to correct these problem. You can change name to the material in .sml file and in .cfg files of modules named solar. Or wait some days untill I correct and repost :-)
