Re: The Future of Humanity & Intelligent life in the universe

What's remarkably apparent to me in GPT-3's conversation up there is that it's a languistic relational database that has learned off some maths tables being asked to do calculation - but it didn't evolve as a calculator, so it's abstracting the act of calculation through layers of language processin...

You can plot a course through 3D space for the camera to follow. In truth, I haven't used it in about a year, so I can't remember how to access it, and it wasn't very stable then (This was on a Development build, I was on the Steam Beta). Oh, is that like- if I want to make a video of a space trip ...

For smooth motion in your shots, I recommend switching to "Spacecraft" camera motion mode. That will smooth out any sudden input, but you will need to fight drift. I also recommend using a game controller for camera movement - map the controls so you can control FOV and movement in as comf...

Auto-screen adjust is driving me crazy.

There is both a button and a key shortcut (default: V) to toggle the different exposure modes.

Occasionally Space Engineer puts out a thread asking for more beta testers, but I think the roster is pretty full now.

That's definitely not what he's asking. He's being quite clear. You even quoted him.

Unusual weather

midtskogen, you are the coolest non-fictional person I know of. Your whole setup, your command of the sciences of weather and astrometry, and your approach to gathering and interpreting data... it's just hugely impressive, dude, all of it.

Hats off to you, sir.

Then try a driver roll-back - there's an option somewhere to return to the previous version of the drivers. 99% of the time, a featureless planet is a driver issue - maybe the new drivers broke some compatibility or something.

You may need to update your graphics card drivers if 0980 has featureless planets.

Wow, that's a great start. Definitely has that "noisy" quality of Earth's cloud patterns, and isn't overly sharp or cartoonish, as SE's stock clouds can often look. It does seem to lack vortices, though. I tend to think the vortices in SE at present are over-simplified. I hope you keep wor...

Oh, I just thought of another docking/module feature: the ability to spawn a ship onto a docking port, already docked.

n0b0dy, we should add transparent textures to that list! I want reflective glass in my window frames.

tRetroVisor: Bad film, excellent re-creation - I just wish it were longer! I love cinematic SE videos. I have tried my hand at it before, but SE stopped being able to access 21st century video encoders when I updated to Windows 10... :(

A Few Ideas Around Modular Ships And Docking These are just some thoughts that have occurred to me while playing SE docking ships and so on. Not in any sort of order: - Undocking from a rotating mother vessel imparts no angular momentum to the undocking ship. I know this might be something that has...
