Re: Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

How do you make it so atmosphere renders in front of large ship models? Do I need to elaborate?
You rewrite the code?

Re: General suggestions for SpaceEngine

It would be cool if we could see techno mic plate movement over long amounts of time, along with star and planet aging and formation and supernovae. It would also be cool do see star’s actually going around their galaxy. I also think we should have nebulas actually forming stars. ... Wow. What kind...

Re: Image Dump

Wow how did you get the planet and rings to glow like that, Fellow Alex?  Backlighting?  Is that Saturn?
Yep, backlighting and autoexposure, and reflected light from the moon lighting up the dark side.

No, not Saturn, just some random purple gas giant, no doubt in a galaxy far, far away.

Re: Suggestions & Feedback about the Website and Forum

I brought up both these issues before, shortly after the server was moved from Russia when feedback was requested. My posts were apparently ignored (as many of my questions are, but that's a different topic...). Or is just me and my current choice of browser? When making quotes, the actual name of t...

Re: Work progress 0.991

Shadows has been in need of a re-work for quite some time now. I'm glad it's being worked on. I was wondering: Will you take into account different sizes of light sources? For example, from a planet orbiting a large star at a very small distance, the star will illuminate more than 50% of the planet...

Re: Image Dump

View from the surface, near one of the poles. Real shadows would make a big difference. 990-00576.jpg Hmmmm... ship lighting problems still exist in 990. Some components are completely dark, while others of the same type are lit. Not to mention the scaling/lighting issue that was present in 980 is s...

Re: Image Dump

Wow I need to find distinct colors like these! I've been looking for multiple star systems like that. Well, you have a lot of addons, and may have changed the default addresses, so this may not work for you: The planet I'm orbiting is: RS 8093-2251-8-8180399-2344 B1 2.904 day orbit around the red d...

How do you get such vivid contrasty colors, Fellow Alex?
White dwarf/red dwarf binary in this case. :)

Re: Science and Astronomy Questions

Personally, I think cloud is the right descriptor — after all is it not spherical in shape? Whereas a belt is more or less a ring. And where in the definition of "cloud" is there mention of a specific density? :)
