Wait a minute... isn't the Schwarzschild radius the point were the escape velocity equals the speed of light? How could that be equal to 1g?

If my math is corrects, that would have a surface area of 2,872,853,278,179,353,709,340,776,557.9297 square kilometers. :o Give or take a few acres. (I did notice the 1g surface gravity.) Or 2.873E27 km 2 . Earth is some 5.101E8 km 2 . Some 5,631,941,341,265,151,361 times the Earth's surface area. :...

:o Is that a half parsec radius planet? There might just be enough room for everybody on that monster.

You're mad I tell you, mad! (In a good way, of course.)

(And actually looks like a water painting.)

pzampella , that is amazing! What even is there to critique? :) Everything looks crisp and the colors and nebulosity came out beautifully. And it looks very natural, not over-processed at all. Love it! Thank you,  Watsisname ! I really liked it, but maybe there is something that some of the experts...

...and likewise, is there a category for youngest star? Hmmmmm... might have to pick a specific date for that record. Edit: Haven't spent a lot of time looking for young stars (yet), but I did notice this young pup has the age in years down to three decimal places. My math makes that to about just u...

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

https://imgur.com/a/FabIvXl Either a bug with my computer or a bug with the game, but for whatever reason volcanoes among other things' brightness is way out of wack compared to the rest of the planet, and for some reason the light from the volcanoes renders awkwardly. Only when you move far enough...

Space engine will not display past loading screens

I'm no Space Engine troubleshooting expert, but in this case, I would simply delete the SpaceEngine\cache folder and start SE again.

It may take a little while for SE to start up again as it rebuilds the cache folder.

Last week I achieved one of the most beautiful astrophotos I have ever taken. It is the region of the Sagittarius bow, where the center of pur galaxy lies. These are 40x60s light frames stacked and processed in Pixinsight along with darks, dark flats, flats and bias frames. https://lh3.googleuserco...

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Thread

It gets worse.

Apparently there has been at least three confirmed cases of people who have had COVID-19 and recovered, have now come down with it again. Perhaps a mutated strain already, but certainly not a good sign.

wow are all these from 0980?  mind sharing the coordinates for them?  I've never seen anything so colorful! Yes, indeed, all from 980.  No post editing, but I often play with the IR shift and night light brightness settings (ctrl-F4 menu), as well as the exposure. The volcano pic, for example, defi...
