Modern physics shows solipsism to be true?

It is indeed a metaphysical claim.  No experiment in physics can provide insight into this question because it does not make falsifiable predictions.  I cannot prove that all of reality is not a hallucination or that you are not a brain in a vat. There are also some problems and confusions in the a...

Modern physics shows solipsism to be true?

I recently encountered an article by the science writer Amanda Gefter which claims that recent discoveries in physics point towards a solipsistic view of the universe: "ever since Einstein, theoretical physics has been one long death march for invariants. With his infamous discovery that black ...

Apparently the Milky Way's disk is much bigger than we thought it was, and its mass is comparable to Andromeda's if we include galactic halos. Possibly something to alter in SE? Or maybe I'm getting taken in by clickbait.

Auto-screen adjust is driving me crazy.

How on Earth (or rather, not) did I miss that? Thanks.

Auto-screen adjust is driving me crazy.

My favorite part of SE is going low over planets and examining/photoing the landscape from any angle. Please, at least give us the option to turn this horrible feature off.

I zoomed in on the planet you start by and found that the shore consists of right angles. Not a great first impression. I do love the new terrain (although the "pebbles" terrain looks heavily tessellated from a distance).

It's too soon to form an overall impression, though.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

When entering the planetarium or going to a saved location, the loading screen does not go away until I press the escape button. Also, it appears that I cannot enter the oceans of superoceanic planets past a few kilometers down (not sure if this is a bug). EDIT: ʻOumuamua is in the wrong location (o...

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

On some planets (most often around the poles of oceanias) there appears to be about two kilometers of ocean next the shoreline that doesn't exist. At about a kilometer away, it retreats and shows that there had been land there the whole time. Sometimes there are even pools or lakes that disappear. M...

General questions about SpaceEngine

Ohh I was waiting for someone to make a planet add on for Antares (an orange star with a blue companion) to see something like this- THANKS! Heh, the irony is, I was actually searching for (and failing to find) a system like that, and somehow accidentally clicked on a random star and then the 'go t...

Science and Astronomy Questions

Found a planet in SE that has an atmosphere of 74% oxygen, 24% carbon dioxide, and nearly one percent methane. Would the whole atmosphere explode or something if I opened a lighter on the surface? I mean, that just doesn't look sustainable to me. Whats the color of the sky in day time? Basically th...

A planet between an orange and a blue star?  Can you show me an example of this (sounds like a binary system), I haven't found a planet in a system of that nature. RS 8474-3177-3-79-649 A9, an oceania planet. Move time until it comes between the stars. You can see two differently colored days right...

Work progress 0.990

How does the lighting work in SE? Most of what I've seen seems pretty well done (e.g. a planet between an orange and blue star correctly turns orange-hued and blue-hued on either side), but I'm wondering what other things are taken into account. Can stars outside the solar system have an effect? I m...

Ringworlds?

Is it theoretically possible for SE to have ringworlds or Dyson Spheres? Probably would be a mother to load them, but being able to explore a real-size ringworld even on low quality/LOD would be amazing. Here's what I'm talking about: I personally wouldn't care about a...
