What if Theia had hit the earth and created 2 moons and they didn't merge together?  How would things look for Earth?

Help with creating Mods and Addons

I had been creating a planet with a 'satellite sun' and I had placed it in orbit around Vega. But theres an issue here, when I do this it makes Vega look like this. I've tried it around Achernar but the same thing results. Can anyone help? Sydney 2.0 is the planet. https://i.imgur.com/dvgecD6.jpg

Science and Astronomy Questions

Planets around F stars would be unlikely to host life as we know it F8 and F9 would be the best one of those to look for possible Earth like planets in habitable zones. The star in the sky would look very bright, twice as bright most likely so you would go blind alot quicker by looking at it. Sunbur...

Science and Astronomy Questions

Holy moly this a very interesting answer here! O and B type stars are absolutely out of the question, A type stars are extremely rare to have life probably. So this means F type stars and higher class G stars are what I am looking for. Now in your list there it shows F5 stars, but later class F star...

I'm in utter astonishment at your Earthbound journeys, Mr Jack Frost ^ So, it looks like the habitable zone gas giant HD 28185 b is a transiting planet, and the light curve indicates the presence of a satellite of 0.8 Earth radii at a distance of 15 planetary radii. This confirms that potentially-h...

Science and Astronomy Questions

This question is inspired from a dream I had.

Are hotter brighter suns able to support life as we know it? F stars? A type stars? Even brighter ones like B and O, or subgiants?

Now THAT is very interesting. A very good read, Sir. This will help me in developing situations similar to the ones. I cannot thank you enough for that read.

Talk to me about SE as a community

Hey Starlight Glimmer, thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! It's lovely to meet you :) 19052 I think S.E seems to have a small community, a tight nit one. Most of the users that I know of, are right here on these forums. There's some discord servers. Personally I don't interact...

Space chats with your friendly neighbourhood anthropologist!

Hey Starlight Glimmer! I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and stories, thank you so much. 19024 I like it because it gives me hope, hope that humanity can one day find a better way then greed and corporations. I just like the sheer sensation of the unknown, imagining what could be out th...
