Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

22108 i cant open SE anymore Post your ' se.log '. It is in the ' system ' directory of SpaceEngine. The first thing you can always do is: A. Delete the ' cache ' directory in your SpaceEngine installation directory. If that does not help: B. Delete the 'main- user .cfg' and the 'save- user .cfg' f...

22070 About the "Astronomical Society"- I was referring to International Astronomy Union (IAU) on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internati ... nomy_Union. The suggested names for Centaurian planets came from a short article of "Alpha Centauri Bb: Why Are New Planet Names So Dull?"...

I know someone who is 69. And a big fan of SpaceEngine. I would understand if he was impatient with the release of SE 0.990. For who knows, how many years he still has.
But he is patient and plays with SE 0.980 / 0.980_e until the release of the next version. That after all has also a lot to offer.

Qr Bbpost The names are not made offical by the Astronomical Society yet, but may be proposed for the following Centaurian Planets:

Which 'Astronomical Society', and can you state your sources where you found these many planets?

21803 There's this weird glitch i get after the game loads up. You have an Intel graphics card. Minimum requirement of SpaceEngine is an Ati or Nvidia graphics card. If you have another video card in your computer, make sure that SpaceEngine uses it. Otherwise, you could try it with a lower screen ...

An'shur, I have a version of the third example. But as I said, the speeds are not right. And you can see the second (wrong) Barycenter if you have orbit lines on.

22019 the binary stars in the video have retrograde orbits. Here is the retrograde version: https://i.imgur.com/tEsi2mr.gif The third example is unfortunately not possible. The star on the middle orbit would have to be faster at both ends of the ellipse, but that is not possible in SE. But here is ...

Science and Astronomy Questions

21956 I came across an interesting video. I am wondering how could I calculate the orbital period of the configuration at 3:32. I gave all stars the same mass (MassSol 1) and then calculated the orbital period 1 against 2. (I do not know if that's right, but it works.) As SemiMajorAxis I took 0.3 a...

22003 For a planet and moon system with equal density, isn't that coincidentally also the Roche limit? If I use the Earth's radius that Google gives me (6371 Km), the Roche limit for objects with equally density is 8026.957 km. (According to my calculation.) That would be about 1.26 times the radiu...
