Possible bug: Incorrect calculation of radii/luminosities of procedural B-type stars

(…) I'm not sure of the cause for this error. I looked in earlier versions and could not find it in any O or B stars -- their luminosities appeared to be perfectly consistent with the Stefan-Boltzmann Law. I'll make sure that this is brought to SpaceEngineer's attention. Thanks for reporting it! Gl...

Possible bug: Incorrect calculation of radii/luminosities of procedural B-type stars

Not sure if Red Giants follow that the Mass-Luminosity relationship, I think it only applies to Main Sequence stars?

That's true. In the case of red giants, you can estimate the luminosity based on their radii and surface temperatures using this equation

Possible bug: Incorrect calculation of radii/luminosities of procedural B-type stars

Hopefully this gets fixed.  I saw this mass-luminosity relationship in Starry Night's H-R diagram, and since Vlad had said that he might add this feature to Space Engine, maybe we will see a fix for this relationship soon. Hoping for the same. It's quite a serious miscalculation, and it doesn't see...

Possible bug: Incorrect calculation of radii/luminosities of procedural B-type stars

32957 For instance, a B0 V star with a radius of 6.36 solar radii and temperature of 29220 K will have a luminosity of about ~26900 Sols, yet SE calculates its luminosity to be a measly 539 sols Which one is correct, then? Though it was obvious; the former is the correct calculation. There's no way...

Possible bug: Incorrect calculation of radii/luminosities of procedural B-type stars

I've noticed that the calculated luminosities and radii of many procedurally generated B-type stars simply don't make sense. Using the well-known Stefan-Boltzmann equation, I always seem to end up with radically different values from what SE displays. For instance, a B0 V star with a radius...

are Planet Classes in scripts still valid?

I was wondering the same thing. The manual seems outdated.

NST Cluster - 245,000 stars and 640,000 planets!

This is really impressive. Well done.

Figured it out.

Have to say using the planet editor entails a considerable learning curve, but I'm enjoying myself.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

Found the file and deleted it. But I do have a question: is there a way to reset the .cfg presets back to their original/stock configuration? For example, I would like to reset the aquaria_airless_europa.cfg file. How can I do that without reinstalling the whole game?

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

How do I completely delete .cfg files I created via the planet editor? I saved one by mistake but I can't seem to find it in my file explorer. Yet it shows in-game.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

I reported this in the 0.980 by mistake, but I was having an issue getting the Obliquity parameter to update for my custom planets/moons. After some troubleshooting, I found that it only occurs with tidally locked objects. These seem to always predetermined obliquities that can't be changed on the f...

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

My apologies. I should have posted the above in the 0.990 thread. This is definitely not related to 0.980.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

The Obliquity parameter does not seem to update for custom objects. I created a star system of 5 planets and many moons from scratch a nd I can't seem to change the obliquity for any of them. It's always stuck to the same value no matter what I assign to it in the script. Just figured I'd mention t...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Would be great to have more composition choices for atmospheres and oceans. I created a chlorine planet and wanted it to have oceans of hydrochloric acid (HCl), but to my disappointment, the compound isn't supported in the current version, so I couldn't finish the planet.
